It's Our Birthday! Celebrating 1 Year Of BoxFetti

What A Magical First Year We've Had!

One year ago, BoxFetti founder Louise Holk put her heart and soul into creating a party company that would fill a gap and make planning celebrations easier and a whole lot more fun. We chatted to her about the BoxFetti journey...

The inspiration behind the brand….

As a mum of 3 who not only loves to create beautiful parties but who also believes that you can find reasons to celebrate the everyday, Louise wanted to bring the most inspiring party products to Dubai while helping people to plan those special moments and create memories. And what better time to do it all than after the pandemic, when celebrating life is more important than ever and party season is back with a bang?!

So why the name?

Well, BoxFetti began as the only company in the UAE to offer a ‘celebration in a box’ – essentially a curated collection of party accessories based on themes or colours – put together to make shopping and planning easier. This still remains at the heart of BoxFetti but the business has now grown to accommodate customer demand and now includes individual pieces for every type of occasion.

BoxFetti today….

Offering over 50 party brands from around the world (that’s more than 3,400 different SKU’s), many of which are exclusive to BoxFetti, each product is carefully selected by Louise because of it genuinely makes her smile and because she believes it is special. Today, in addition to the party boxes and supplies, you can shop the BoxFetti website for everything from thoughtful birthday gifts to cute party bags and fillers, dressing up costumes to pretty home accents  - all those little things that come together to create a complete party solution. And with more of a demand on DIY parties, BoxFetti is all about helping make hosting easy and creative – with make-at-home balloon arches and a team who are passionate about advising on specific themes and ideas (or offering these from scratch if you don’t know where to start!).

What kind of parties can BoxFetti help with?

From 1st birthday parties to teen get-togethers, big milestone celebrations to seasonal events and literally everything in-between – we treat our customers like friends and genuinely want to help them make every occasion magical and memorable.

The wonderful thing about the UAE is how multicultural it is. There’s always a celebration here - every nationality has its own special days and there’s always a reason to party! We want to be a part of the journey, to help plan the baby shower and then go on to help with all of the birthdays to come!

We work with a number of very special and trusted suppliers and partners

We love supporting small businesses and will always look to offer a platform for homegrown brands – especially those who are female/mama led like our own! We have also worked carefully to partner with specific brands and companies – from party planners to specialist suppliers of beautiful event accessories such as bespoke bouncy castles, incredible sweet treats and other extras to help make a party pop!

How does the next year look for BoxFetti?

The brand has evolved from selling curated boxes to a one-stop-party-shop and there are so many more exciting developments in the pipeline! We can’t reveal them all but we can say that soon our customers will be able to visit us at a fabulous location to shop rather than buying online and that we have all kinds of amazing collaborations and opportunities for our customers to experience some of the BoxFetti magic coming up.

A final word of advice for any other women who are thinking about starting a business?

Running a business isn’t easy – there are long days, late nights and many sacrifices – particularly when juggling kids too. But it’s all worth it if you have a real passion – just keep going even when you have a bad day because this doesn’t mean a bad year. And do things your way – don’t obsess over competition – there’s room for everyone to grow.
